AS, RT(R)(N)(T), CMD

Stan Hoggard is a highly accomplished Certified Medical Dosimetrist with a distinguished career spanning over four decades in military medicine, nuclear medicine, radiation therapy, and dosimetry. A veteran of the United States Air Force, Stan is one of the rare professionals certified in all three radiologic technologies: radiography, nuclear medicine, and radiation therapy.

Driven by a relentless commitment to education and service, Stan began his journey in medical imaging through the U.S. military, later transitioning into teaching, supervising, and innovating within radiation oncology. His dosimetry training and clinical excellence led to a long-standing consulting career, where he brought advanced planning strategies to cancer centers across the country.

Stan is widely respected for developing treatment planning techniques that have significantly influenced practice standards. His “Reverse-Inverse” planning model and novel beam orientation strategies were incorporated into a published international handbook to standardize care across European oncology centers. His technical ingenuity, especially in complex breast treatment planning, has been recognized by colleagues and institutions alike.

Beyond his clinical and technical contributions, Stan is a committed advocate for professional development through his role as Treasurer of the AAMD Education and Research Foundation. He remains passionate about mentorship and outreach, giving back to the field that shaped his career. In his free time, Stan enjoys traveling, motorcycling, gardening, and spending time with his large and loving family.
